Social media has revolutionized the way people communicate with each other, but it has also done a number on the way marketers analyze consumer behavior and feedback. Social media has caused marketers to think in real time about how to best promote their products or services to consumers who have more choices than ever before.
On the analytical side, social media poses a dilemma for marketers. The dynamics of a real-time conversation can instigate a level of marketing impatience that seems to equal the consumer’s need for instant gratification. Now, marketers want to learn what consumers are feeling about their
Waging battles in the growing number of states proposing affiliate nexus bills that threaten affiliate marketers is a lot like the classic episode of “I Love Lucy” where Lucy and Ethel attempt to keep pace with the conveyor belt at the chocolate factory.
Staying on top of what is happening in each state is becoming more difficult yet even more critical. But as the PMA gains a deeper understanding of the affiliate nexus tax issue, its far-reaching impact and we get some hard-won political
“What am I supposed to do now?” That’s the last question you want crossing your web visitor’s mind, especially if they have arrived at your landing page through some sort of marketing offer.
From the perspective of your visitor it should be clear and obvious where they need to click on your page to get them closer to their goal. Some acquisition strategies simply amount to acquiring enough size to be bought yourself. By their track record that may have been GSI Commerce’s strategy all along. Ebay has announced plans to snatch up the fast growing performance marketing company and e-commerce platform provider for $2.4 billion.
GSI Commerce had been on a purchasing streak itself buying sports site Fanatics, Inc for $277 million, affiliate network Pepper Jam for an unreported amount, email marketing company e-Dialog for $157 million, retargeting solution provider FetchBack for an undisclosed amount, and Retail Convergence which owned the niche flash sale site Rue La
The difference between success and mediocrity is the ability to set goals. Goals are what separate the hobbyist bloggers from the A-list bloggers, and it is the lack of goal setting that holds back many internet marketers. There are a lot of great motivational rewards that come with meeting or surpassing a goal you have set. But what kind of goals can you set for your blog? Three years ago, you might have never heard of group buying or daily deals sites, but chances are you have by now, that is, unless you’ve been living under a rock.
The surge in popularity of such sites has now been confirmed in numbers. On March 22, TechCrunch and TechFlash reported on a new study by daily deals aggregator Local Offer Network that looked at 90,000 deals on 322 sites. The
Without a doubt, people go into business for themselves in order to control the amount of money they make, and the amount of time they spend making it.
Working for someone else your hours are set. The amount of money is set, and you have little control of the work you do. Creating your own schedule and paycheck is decidedly a better way control your time and ability to earn a better income in the long run.
In fact, this is a great way to become your own boss. Setting your own hours leaves you free to spend time with
At some point during the last year, you’ve been hit with the word social: the social web, social apps, or social marketing. By now you’re probably a bit skeptical about the value of social, but when applied to real-world projects, leveraging social can generate real results. Recently our agency started testing the results of making search engine marketing (SEM) buys based on listening to the social world that’s sprung up during the last few years.
Facebook Knows the Benefits of Listening
Allow me to define what I mean by “listening”. As marketers when we listen we’re learning what people say about
Walgreens announced today that it will purchase drugstore.com for 409 million dollars. The Chicago-based chain will be incorporating the other companies owned by drugstore.com such as VisionDirect.com, SkinStore.com, Beauty.com. The purchase is considered small by Walgreens, which is currently the nation’s largest drugstore. Walgreens made an estimated 67 billion in sales.
